slogger
I picked up a comment earlier this week on a bike sale on ebay, saying that the tyres had "not been turned yet". Now I vaguely remember this as common practice in the 80's when I rode, but am not sure if this has been carried thru to modern times. Do please still turn the tyres to make the most if both edges, is it still possible with modern tyres / bikes and is it frowned upon or recognised as good practice ?? bikespace
Absolutely. If you don't, you've got too much money. Yeah they've got a direction arrow, but it seems to be of no importance whatsoever. And I don't mean it's just me as a tight 4rse - most people will turn tyres. godzilla
directional arrows mean nothing when used in trials . turn your tyres when it starts to loose grip.
bigfoot
I think the direction arrow is important if your going to be driving at great speed and by that I mean speeds greater than even a mont can reach. It's to do with the tyre construction but I've never seen a trials tyre de-laminate and can't imagine I evder will. I always turn mine as I don't have too much money and even if I did I think I'd do the same and spend the money saved on more drink.
scorpa3
Yes, turn it around. We don't have many rocks around here, so tyres last very well. Half a season then turn for another half, then put a new one on and still use the old one on my enduro bike. This makes trials a really cheap form of motorsport where tyres are concerned
max1956bikes
i buy secondhand tyres from other riders and keep turning them.normally about
02-apr
It's surprising how often you can keep turning a tyre and convince yourself that it is worthwhile. I've done it for years and am sure my wonderful results are not down to lack of grip on account of poor tyres.
