betabro
Hi All, Well the Beta rattle got unbearable, so I dropped it in for diagnosis before a catastrophic failure. Result, Bottom end bearing nearly siezed, Crank bearing was rough rolling. Piston had a small blow past the ring. Turns out it already has a 270 bore. So it's getting a rebuild. Any guesses on what it will cost? Cheers Kem Edited August 8, 2008 by Betabro
fkrisztian
All I know is that a new piston is 105 quid.

betabro
Thanks, Was hoping to get away under a grand our money or 500 pounds. The parts are 400 pounds already, so may be more. Yeah didn't mind the chin scratch so much, it was when he started rubbing the hands I got worried. Cheers
betabro
Spot on Smalley250. Ended up (in your currency) 400 lbs for parts and 200 lbs in labour, 600 total. He had to build a brace for the intake manifold, and cleaned up the exhaust port. Along with fitting all seals and bearings plus a piston and rings. All running well, yee ha.
