frontroomautos
I have regular access to a family members house in the Ardesh regeon of Southern France. I would like to purchase an 08 Montesa to leave there as I have been spending allot of time in the area & considering buying somewhere small there myself. Would someone who has more experience in Europe than me be able to point me to some good shops or outlets to purchase a bike. Anyone have any knowledge of dealerships in France or Spain who stock Montesa's as it would not be too far to go really to buy something and get it back to France from where I am. I am in the UK at the moment and have looked on the internet but have not had much success as yet. Thanks
timbo
Hi, you could try www.scootracemotos.com near Lyon, or www.dherbymoto.com in dept. 38, these are the two most active dealers in the east of France. Or www.horizonmotos.fr in dept13 who are advertising a "special offer" on Repsol Montesas. I dont know how new bike prices compare here in france, (i am in the Lot), but second hand bikes seem a lot cheaper in the U.K. Cheers Tim
frontroomautos
Thanks very much Tim, I will look into it. I don't know if the prices will be cheaper in France or not but if they are that will be a huge bonus. I will investigate but my main problem is that my French language is not very good yet, but I am working on it. I will have to rely on a Frenchman speaking a bit of English which embarrasses me somewhat as I know they tend not to like it & who can blame them. Much appreciated though & thanks again. kinell
my main problem is that my French language is not very good yet Start off with the basics via email: - "Je voudrais un nouveau Montesa, combien suis eux?" Then use this to translate any replies http://babelfish.yahoo.com

frontroomautos
After looking, you're dead right Munch, it is indeed. I think I will transport a bike from the UK instead.
cota kid
france is expensive. If France is expensive try E Bay, Belgium was once up for sale on it.
nigel dabster
If France is expensive try E Bay, Belgium was once up for sale on it. Surely Luxembourg is less than Belgium?
perce
france is expensive. unless you run it on diesel. I'd buy the bike direct from Spain if I was you.
frenchie
If you fancy a weekend away try Andorra, I think im right in thinking its Tax free... When I bought some Hebo boots they were quoting 40 pct cheaper than France, but they will not post you have to collect. I did nt fancy a weekend away enough but worth investigating. If not Try Joel Correy Trial 70 speaks great English situated in Versoul. Bon Soir Frenchie..
