gaver19
I need a cylinder repair and replate. Has anyone found anywhere that does a good job with a quick turnround. Also would i have to supply a new piston, or would they supply. The bikes a fantic 307 so its not likely they would get one from normal sources. Ive tried a few places but most are quoting 4-6 weeks. I think the only place to get a piston from is Bill Pye, but to send the barrel there for him to send away is going to take longer and cost quite a bit more in postage alone. I live in south cumbria and theres no engineering firms within a 100 mile radius

kevin j
I had a TY350 cylinder redone. Remove crhome, add Nikasil. Langcourts, in U.S., but their home is a UK company I think. Did right by me, although not cheap. I think it was 150 or 175 $US 5 years ago. k
hrc1
Plating is a specialist task - I'm sure most dealers will send barrel to Langcourt. I do & they do a good job. Plating costs
boofont
I spoke to birks about getting a TY350 cylinder done, I think he said it would be around

glenn
Hi again I'm getting my barrel back tomorrow from langcourt, and was wondering if i will have to hone it like you would after a rebore. Cheers Glenn.
kevin j
Nope, they told me the nikasil is harder than the silcion carbide brush hone, and it just glazes the surface. Clean it with soap and hot water, check all the port deburring, and put it together. Keep the air filter clean, Nikasil should go a long time more than the original chromed bore. They did say on a rebuild, a diamond hose is good, (who has that), and a brush type silicon carbide hone would be helpful. Seems contradictory, but that's all I know. k
