fezzz72
Hi,I have recently bought a 2001/2002 Sherco 290,fork seal was gone,on replacing the seal I found out that the bottom yoke has been broken where the fork goes through it.Im new to trials bikes, this being my first one,and nearly passed out when I was quoted
bikespace
How broken is it? Obviously the cleanest method will be if you can get hold of a second hand one from someone, but you could look at getting it welded if it's a possibility.Post a picture of the break maybe? Dunno what area you're in so don't know if we could suggest someone to look at it.
fezzz72
Hiya mate, live in Evesham,Worcestershire.have taken it into a local welding business-says he will look at it this afternoon, though doesnt promise that it can be fixed. The break is right by the side of where the 3 allen bolts go to hold the fork in place. Will let you know what the outcome is-Cheers
fezzz72
Hi,had the part welded, looks ok but cant guarantee that its as strong as before-welder bloke didnt even charge me-said it was nice to have something a bit different to do-good bloke,so gave him a drink and came back home to refit it and see if it works ok-cheers
bikespace
Good stuff - try to keep it on the back wheel as much as possible then eh!
