kevine
Being we are headed into winter, my afternoon-after-work rides result in a bit of night riding. Has anybody replaced the stock headlight with something a bit brighter? Suggestions? Cheers, K
mcharchuk
I bolted my hid helmet light to my handlebar last weekend. Just have to remember to have the battery charged before a night ride. http://www.trailtech.net/helmet_light_kits.html I considered putting a better headlight on (I have a 55watt 8" race light sitting in the garage) but I would be surprised if the beta stator could power it. I never actually tried the 55watt light because it is HUGE so I really don't know if it could handle it.
kevine
Sort of fixed my problem. Pulled the stock bulb out and replaced the stock 20w bulb with a 35w bulb. I think the bulb is a flood so I may try experimenting with spot oriented bulb but so far am pretty happy with it. I also have to check that the 35w bulb doesn't melt the plastic. At the same time, I replaced the connection to the bulb with a proper female socket which just barely fit inside the bulb housing (bought a regular harness from a lighting shop). Much better than the stock wiring which had worked loose on my bike. Kevin
