amiller
I was watching a short interview with Dupont and he said he had ridden National and World Trials Events. Said he didnt feel he had the Soul of a Trials Rider. Guess thats why he is doing his own thing. Anyone seen Dupont compete? How did he stack up against our current crop of competitors? He is the right age to to fit in with the big boys. Just curious! Aaron

jordi
I rode a French 4 day trial back in 05 that he was riding, coped well enough with some fierce sections on the top route but got the impression he was just riding without that competative streak the top boys have! He did do a backflip in the town square one night though during one of his stunt shows.

I was there too that backflip was something else. I got the impression he didn't have the temperment for the top stuff either. Similar thing with jason finn, really good at the trick stuff but trials itself you always think these guys will be better. Suppose its a bit like alot of people tipping Knighter to do well in the scott we know what happened there.
toofasttim
Said he didnt feel he had the Soul of a Trials Rider. Do real trials riders have a secret yearning for a flat cap, barbour jacket and a pipe?
grahamjayzee
Do real trials riders have a secret yearning for a flat cap, barbour jacket and a pipe? Personally, yes! When I restarted my trials career, I bought a Jack Russell before I bought a bike. I guess it's genetic...
steve
I was working for Martin Crosswaite in 1998 and Julien came practicing with us a few times in France. He wasn't a patch on Martin or Mark Harries back then.
