copemech
Ok, I know i asked for it, but all I could buy on the cheap was this new Vista powered machine! I must admit the GUI is good withe all the fancys, but I cannot seem to get this friggin thing to turn off by itself! I have the screensaver set to come on at 5 min. No Joy! The power settings are set at standards and I have changed them yet still no power off or sleep mode? Is there some switch I am missing here to enable screensaver or power management? Duh? timbo
You and me too! This is my first pc, always used macs before, but it was three times the price for the same spec macbook! It is lightning fast, but i've given up trying to get it to do what i ask it to do and just accept it. Having said that, after i re-installed the system it is a bit better, now we know why macs cost more.
copemech
Funny how this stuff works. Seems if you plug in a Microsoft wireless mouse(which I did) there is a conflict that disallows the screensaver and power settings. There is a patch on the microsoft site.
