Starting Txt50 Boy

I'm beginning to wonder is a Gas Gas Boy that I picked up yesterday doesn't like southern air.

I picked up a 2004 Boy yesterday. It started within a couple of kicks and seemed to run quite well at the persons house where we picked it up from. When we got home it started after a few kicks and ran for about 10 minutes before it was time to put it away.

This morning it wouldn't start at all. I tried kicking it with the throttle wide open, closed, chock on and off, but nothing.

I took the plug out and it was wet with petrol so fuel is getting through to the cylinder. Trying the plug on the engine there was a big blue spark, so I don't think that it is an electrical problem.

I took the carb off and blew out all the jets, although there didn't seem to be any signs of water or other muck.

Still no luck after about 20 minutes of kicking, throttle wide open, closed, chock on and off...

Is there a knack to starting the Gas Gas TXT 50 Boy?

Or what other problem could have happened over night?

Hi. I have found the best approach to be to kick the the engine over quickly and continuously without any throttle (don't wait in-between kicks, just keep going up and down as quickly as possible). This is especially true when the engine is warm and usually takes 3~5 kicks before starting.

Regards, John
