big chick
Was playing on the bike in the snow and it felt like the carb was icing so put it back in the garage. When I have taken the bike back out, still getting the same symptoms but the temperature was plus 4.5 centigrade. Symptoms are Starting with the choke it revs much higher than normal When warm will not tick over A delay in pick up when you open the throttle and no power at the bottom end Delay in revs dropping when shutting off Will rev to near normal max revs but will not rev out as cleanly as usual Will not restart without the choke I have stripped and checked the carb (Del orto), jets are clear though there was signs of condensation. Put it in the airing cupbpard for a couple of hours to make sure it was dried out. The slide opens freely and snaps shut when you close the throttle. There are no signs of any splits in the rubber between the air cleaner box and carb or cylinder and carb. Put it back together but still got the same problem Any ideas on what is wrong gratefully received Cheers Big Chick
copemech
Still sounds like the carby. You might double ckeck for water entry(again). Where there is smoke, there may be more smoke(water). But when you clean these things, it seems best to use carby spray or brake cleaner, then blow backwards through the circuits using compressed air, specially the two small holes in the bore. This means jets out with a fine wire passed through, fuel screw out as well when doing it. As the finest particle can screw you and you may never see it! Yet all said, you should be able to eat off any part of it when done! Hope that helps, MC
