Gearbox Problems

hi all

I know its not trials but...

I am currently rebuilding the gearbox on a 1999 kawasaki kx 80. This really has me stumped right now because the two shaft of gears inside will not turn together. I have 2nd 6th and neutral turning but none of the other gears will turn. As far as i can make out, this is because the pins on the gears are ingaged, stopping it from turning. Im thinking that it could be the selector drum slipped on the shaft and not engaging the correct gears??

If anyone could shed any light on this problem i would be very appreciative.

max

P.s The bike was run without any gearbox oil.

If that is the case, I would think somewhere along the lines of either a gear that is supposed to rotate freely untill engaged has siezed on its shaft, or a shift fork is just bent or broken.

Basically, you cannot have two sets of mismatched gears engaged at once, or it will not turn. Either way, sounds as though a split of the cases is in order.
