Guest Yamaha_dude
In catalouges with some cameras it says sd compatible, or xd compatible, with some it doesnt does this mean that they have no slot for a memory card??? I want a digital camera with 3 megapixels, a slot for memory card, not sure about zoom-optical or digital? optical is better but costs more so i dont think i need it because it is just my first camera. Any ideas or recomendations anyone? Thanks in advance YD Richard Longstaff GD Edited October 13, 2004 by Yamaha_dude
bullfrog
I don't know the answer to your "sd" or "xd" question, but I do know this. Optical zoom is the ONLY way to go in the camera. Electronic zoom or digital zoom in the camera is EXACTLY like enlarging the photo on your computer. Digital zoom in the camera just "captures" fewer pixels in the center of the viewfinder and makes them bigger to fill the frame. The photo will necessarily be more "pixelated" - individual picture elements will be larger, blockier, easier to see. If you don't have the money for optical zoom that's OK - but don't pay extra for digital zoom in the camera, because you can do all the digital zooming you want on your computer later. Ed Keep the rubber side down!
adam
If it doesn't say xd or sd it will probably use a different kind of memory card like smart media or compact flash. I've also been told xd cards are easier to get card readers for and are compatible with more digital printers. Hope this of use. AC.
Guest Yamaha_dude
Right changed my mind, i need at least 2 megapixels, at least 2 x optical zoom, a decent camera as in startup time and things like that battery usage etc etc, and has to be at the most
