Hi guys just wondering if any of you have had the same problem.

I Got my stator coil re-wound put the bike back together with correct timing markings, it took ages to start when i got it started it gave kick back i then put it into gear and the bike was runing backwards so cheked woodruff key and timing again (all good). Tryed it again but no luck i even tryed retaring the timing a little but still the same. Dont have a clue what else to do!!

Any help would be very nice Thanks Jorge.

Jorge, take your handlebars off and mount them on the rear mudguard, you'll be going the right way then with the added bonus of the kickstart being the right side of the bike

Think youve got your timing way out mate, did the stator go back on in the correct position?

Gday all, Hmmmm interesting - it sounds as your source coil may be connected backwards. Have you checked timing with a light? Mark TDC on the flywheel and get your mate to kick it over while you have a look and see whats going on. It should happen a few degrees before TDC ( around 10 mm before your TDC mark) Let me know what you find.

Cheers,

Stork.

Jorge,

Is the coil symetrical and do you have long enough wires to flip the coil over? As Stork said this will change the ignition timing and you can verify it with a timing light.

Let us know what you find out.

Frank

Tryed to flip the coil over but there is only one way it goes together and i had marked the plate before removing.
