neo
Hi all, I have friend with an 02 Rev3. And it's running rough. Idling is lumpy revs up reluctantly and blows grey smoke. Someone he knows has advised him it's the old Beta stator problem....but that doesn't add up to me. So can someone please describe the symptoms of a faulty dying stator on a Rev 3? Many thanks and Best of balance. Neo
postmanpat
Grey smoke could be water getting in to the cylinder, poss head gasket?,that would give you a lumpy running.

stork955
As Above Neo. Stator problems cause no ignition (no running at all)! A pretty black and white symptom. Cheers, Stork.

jorgep978
As Above Neo. Stator problems cause no ignition (no running at all)! A pretty black and white symptom. Cheers, Stork. Hi i had a stator problem bike ran backward and dogey spark and not reving out could be the pick up sensors. I think your problem is more than likely be the head gasket or timing. its hard to judge without hearing the bike. Hope this helps Good luck
