fantic156
Looking for some help from the Honda experts, a friend of mine is interested in this Honda on ebay Clicky but my knowledge is limited with Hondas and I couldn't offer to much help. The bike looks gorgeous and the description of the work done is impressive, but we are not sure of the value of the engine modifications. Our uncertainty is born from ignorance so would appreciate your views. Thanks in advance.
wayne_weedon
It sure is pretty as they all are generally. I'm no Honda expert either! But I know it's been on ebay previously and didn't meet reserve, so either the money is not out there or it's perceived value is higher than it's real value. Wayne... hondanut
if the engine is now close to a crf230f type of performance then it will be a great bike, but not sure if you would want to trial it as it looks too good to throw in the mud. andy m
What I do know is the 230 uses a longer stroke/aftermarket crank available 20 yrs ago. The only gearbox I heard about is the Golner ones again from back in the day with closer ratios I believe, first to second anyway. There is a nice modified 200/ 230 on www.shedworks.net Edited February 15, 2009 by bo drinker
woody
Yes, 230cc is achieved with a longer stroke as well as the overbore, furthest an overbore takes them is 220cc as far as I know. A jap specialist used to do oversize engine kits so maybe it's one of those, they also did a full 250cc conversion for the 200. Certainly a very well presented bike, went over
