tombo46
Just bought a pair of Oiled Gaene's (thanks to everyone for the advice on getting them). not had chance to ride in them yet but so far a gaene 42 is a hell of alot smaller than a hebo 42! the thick socks are of no use anymore! however, being as I spent a small fortune on them, whats the best way to look after them and keep them waterproof? Any tips much appreciated! All the best Tom

yamahaty250xox
as paul said, but we also use Neatsfoot oil on them. You can get it from any equestrian shop.
rontheyank
Neatsfoot oil is the best on all leather boots, just apply it with a brush and let it soak in. I have been using it for 30 years, forget your creams or dubbing. Edited March 20, 2009 by rontheyank
trialsoldtimer
I ruined a pair of Gaernes (natural finish ) using neatsfoot oil - I got carried away with the application and eventually it rotted the leather - should be ok on chromed leather. charlie prescott
Hi Guy's. I use a saddle oil, any saddlery dressing should be Ok, as it does not rot Harness , or saddles, and they have a much harsher life. Regard's Charlie. b40rt
Snowseal from any walking shop works pretty well. Its also about feeding and conditioning the leather, as much as waterproofing. Edited March 21, 2009 by B40RT
