tt5th Posted March 21, 2009 Report Share Posted March 21, 2009 The filter should be lightly oiled and fit snugly into the air box opening with a rubber oblong thing on top to hold the shape and seal the edges and then the cover screwed on top of that. Not meaning to imply you are daft or anything but the filter will only go in properly one way. Try turning it round 180 degrees? Other than that, is it the correct filter? tt5th Posted March 22, 2009 Report Share Posted March 22, 2009 (edited) Mines a 99 and has a rubber thingy, doesn't look like the one shown in the parts diagram though. Its just a rubber oblong that fits round the outside. If you've anything missing Sandifords will be able to sort you out off the shelf.
