been out on my bike today, took off over a mound and as i landed snapped the swinging arm. the bit thats bolted to the pivot. not sure if thats what its actually called!

anyhoo this guy with me works at a bike garage reckons they had a couple of montesas in with the same problem and they had it welded back on. is this a common problem and is welding it the answer?

I remember one locally being for sale with this break & it was for spares or repair. a) the guy was a lazy bugger & wouldn't / couldn't fix it  it's weird stuff which doesn't take kindly to welding c) buying a new one wasn't economically viable.

I'd work on the theory that it'd be fixable but I'd be looking for someone who knows what they're doing to weld it for you as next time time breaks you may get hurt.

who'd a thought there was no option

If its the part i'm thinking of then a good welder could do it but the positioning needs to be spot on as it'll effect to the performance of the suspension if its even a few mm out. I'd be looking for a replacement from ebay or someone like ellastone offroad.
