paul w
just picked this off the Bradford club website.............very sad loss. Gordon Thackarywas killed near Dob Park with another motorcycle rider in a head - on crash on Sunday morning. No other vehicles were involved. Gordon Thackary observed at the Allan Jefferies Trials in the 80's and 90's. For those of you who cannot put a face to the name he was the motorcycle rider with no right arm. He observed at the YG on Saturday and was also a regular observer at Wetherby and Ripon events. No other vehicles were involved.
tikka65
Gordon will be sadly missed. One of lifes true characters. Hard to believe we shan't see him at WYTRF meetings any more. RIP Gordon
telecat
Very Sad news. A great character and ever present as an observer. I think a couple of generations of riders in Yorkshire will have "grown up" with him marking sections. Always rode to his section on his Honda or the little Kawasaki and never complained. I always remember him riding off after a trial with riders acknowledging him as he passed. Sadly that's all gone. He was on the way to the Ripon Trial that Sunday to observe with (I believe) his Grandson who was taken to Hospital. Rest In Peace Gordon.
