I've used Brasso for over 30 years, works well. Solvol is also good but a little more abrasive and costs more.

Bye, PeterB.

Forgotten about Brasso, has a funny smell ? A bit like an aged relative!

Anything better for polishing up alloy ?

Big John...uses and recommends... 'Belgom Alu'.

I used to use Solvol Autosol, but mainly use it on chrome brightwork now.

Belgom Alu gives a very good finish!

Solvol Autosol is top stuff. Used to use it to polish up my bikes before I officially turned lazy. Also used it during my student holiday job with Northampton Corporation who employed me (many moons ago) as a bog cleaner in charge of the extremely grand underground loos slap bang in the town centre - a massive responsibility. It worked a treat on the many brass taps, handles and pipes on show in this fine old Victorian establishment. Dunno if the place is still there. Doubt it. Ah, they don't build loos like they used to.

Loo's arn't the same, but there's sure plenty of sh*t going round.

Thanks for the suggestions, will lookout for Belgom Alu'.
