Can anyone help me with identifying an OSSA basket case i recently purchased.

The frame No is B-700029 and all the identification charts i have seen start with B-71****

Its has a black frame with the brake pedal on the right/cable on the left, and the swinging arm spindle slots are enclosed.

I have been told it could be a TR77 Verde but also been told its a MAR , Plonker .

If anyone got any ideas it would be appreciated.

I have an ossa with frame no B-700099 which according to some notes I have is a '79 model (not sure where I got the info from originally)

It has an all green MAR style ally tank with big ossa lettering, will dig out the box with the rest of my info on that bike and post again if anything usefull

As far as I know, the TR77 is the green tank, black frame model introduced in 1977 (hence TR77) The 250 has chassis number starting 63xxxx and the 350 64xxxx

In '79 they painted the frame green too and called it the TR77 Verde, the last of the 'MAR' style bikes before the TR80 Gripper was introduced. The Verde 250 chassis numbers start 70xxxx and the 350 71xxxx. This tallies with the bike that AMO has and I also have a TR77 Verde 250 which starts 70xxxx. I always wondered whether the reference to chassis number prefix 72 was a misprint

Hello,

The Ossa that you refer to is the model TR77, this bike was produced between 1977 ~1979 in 250 & 350 cc versions the series 1 bikes were made between 1977~78 the series 2 were made between 1978~1979.

1977~78 Series 1 -250 cc engine & frame nos started 630**** and 750 bikes were produced, frames were black, tank & panels green, mudguards opaque/white, wheel rims alloy.

1978~79 Series 250 cc engine & frame nos started 720**** and 600 bikes were produced, frames were green, tank & panels green, mudguards green, wheel rims anodised gold.

Series 2 TR77 is a are bike. This information can be confirmed by Senior Gabriel Beltran, Ossa Museum, Utebo, Zaragoza, SA

If anyone wants a TR77 Series 1 350, I have a recently restored example, the bike has a genuine, rare, Vitale Maquinas reed valve engine from Spain, this is not a Phantom conversion, or Harpower, Romat version.

Woody I have had the 720*** prefix for the series 2 TR77 confirmed by Gabriel & the lovely Miss Eva.

It is a genuine number after all then and not a misprint. Wonder why they don't list the 700 prefix on the ID chart.

My '75 350 MAR has frame/engine prefix of 43xxxx and that doesn't appear on any listings either.
