pete
Hi everyone. For my AS level DT project, i'm making a rampy thing to get my bike onto the trailer. I know the simple thing is a plank, but this will be a special thing. Part of the folder is research into exsisting projects, so please could some of you say what you use to get your bikes onto a trailer, and if its a special a general description would be great! Any info much appreciated. Cheers, Pete.
social climber
I don't have one, but the best ramp I've seen is a curved steel affair. It starts off steep at the ground and curves round to a more level plane as it meets the trailer. This stops the center of the bike catching the top of the ramp as the wheel moves onto the trailer. Also, the ramp on my trailer has a horizontal post either side that slides into two vertical slots to stop any forward and back movement so I can use a run up to get the bike up the ramp (useful with an Aprilia climber....) wobbly1
I think SC was referring to the ramp on the link below. http://www.handiramp.com/motorcycle-ramp.htm Just type motorcycle ramp into Google and you'll get loads of results. pete
Cheers! About the only thing I havn't tried was Google. Thought the chances of success were too slim. Will try it out now. (Also thought that this would be a good lazy way to get the info!) Thanks alot, but keep it coming please! Cheers, Pete.
