city trials
Over 500 if the best mini-moto riders in the world converged on Las Vegas the past couple of days for the mini-moto SX championships. The Expert class was stacked with top names. Brad Ripple. Josh Dumuth. Willy Browning. Derek Costella. David Pingree - and the recently suspended bad boy of Motocross, J-Lawbreaker. This isn't child's play. Not for the person with a tight pocketbook. The bikes are custom made. Some running up to $20,000. Michael Blose won the 12 expert event - with Tim Weigand coming in second. Ryan Abrigo won the 10 inch Expert and Costella came in second. On a semi-more-affordable portion of the program. Phillip competed in the 12 inch stock/modified class. A very hotly contested class. You can add minor modifcations, not the full-blown pimp-your-mini-bike until your broke, minis. In 2007, Phil was the AMA Champ. Last year he had bike problems. Over 100 riders entered in this class, from as far away as Russia, France and Australia. This year Phil came in 5th. Not the #1 plate he was hoping for, but a excellent result nonetheless. Congratulation, Phil. Edited May 2, 2009 by City Trials
copemech
I have seen some of these guys, just nuts! I cannot even imagine the money spent on these things, even as compared to a modern MX bike. They need too cut their nuts and make them all ride honda 70's, just like Nascar! Best rider wins!
