Our lad, David (or 'Feet-up Dave' as he is now called by the Huddersfield Clan), got round a very wet Scottish Six Days Trial. His Mum (Wee Jean) and I agreed that if he did the business and got round, finished, then he was entitled to a bonus! A bonus may I say I didn't get when I managed a very wet SSDT in 1977... I was invited on to the finish podium by 'Arch' & 'Mose' for comments on the week, just as David arrived and so I surprised him, by announcing that he had earned a bonus for his ride at the Scottish, he could choose any new bike of his choice from dealer Highland Leisure Sport. What did he do? He chose a new Montesa 4RT, dearest sodding bike on the planet, but a great bike for the SSDT!!! What can I say? BJ Wallet will be a bit lighter for a while methinks!!!
