daveyfinchy
Hi all When I start my '98 techno, it ticks over really good and smooth while upright, but if I lean it over to the right or left, by only about 30 deg or so, a strange rough tickover or grinding sound comes from within??? What do you recon it might be? Dave
stork955
Gday Dave, weird! Does it sound like its coming more from one side side or the other? I know its hard to tell sometimes but this may help isolate the noise. You can use a long screwdriver handle pressed into your ear and using the tip as a probe (like a doctors stethoscope) to help pinpoint it. HTH Cheers, Stork

daveyfinchy
Have't done that yet, I've currently got the waterpump housing off, awaiting a new seal to cure the white oil problem? But I think it seemed to come from the right hand side...... I'll check again when I get it all back together. Dave
bob
Hi, I've definitely read about this on trials central previously in the forum. I seem to recall that it is often from the mains, although it could be a number of things. Can you 'jiggle' the flywheel at all? Bob
