Bleeding The Clutch

Hi there

I got a Venhill Hose and Cable kit for my 280 and have had no problem fitting the throttle cable and front brake hose. Before I start on the clutch hose I need to know how to bleed it, is it the same as the front brake IE using the bleed nipple down through the banjo bolt?

I have never bled the clutch and don't want to start tonight and have problems so I cant ride tomorrow, so just need to check the probably obvious!!!!

Also like the brake is it better to force fluid in from the nipple so as to bleed up wards?

Thanks in advance

Save any grief and don't do it tonight, sods law it'll refuse to bleed !

When you do decide to do it, try it normally as you did with the front brake and if you're unlucky enough that it doesn't work then do the reverse bleeding method. As long as you're not disturbing the slave cylinder then you shouldn't have any problems bleeding it the normal way?

Enjoy yourself tomorrow and I hope the bleeding goes without a hitch

Did this job tonight in about 2 minutes.

Use a syringe to force the fluid in from the bleed nipple end. Back off the adjuster on the lever so there is lots of clearance and remove the Mcyl cap and diaphragm. force the fluid through until it reaches the MCyl and then pump the lever a couple of times to remove any air, top up before replacing diaphragm and cap.

done
