richty250e
Hi Skippy, Standard plug is an NGK B-7ES gapped at 0.5-0.6mm. If you need tech data here is a good source: http://www.cmsnl.com/yamaha-ty250d-1977_mo...%21SERVIC1.html Regarding the backfiring - is that spitting back through the carb or popping in the exhaust? cheers Edited June 11, 2009 by richTY250E

feetupfun
I use B6ES in my TY250A, B and D for trials competition If I was using it on the road I would use a B7ES
skippy1234
hi it was the exhaust while i was kicking it over the plug i took out was a b7hs a lot shorter than the one everyone has said so ive took the head off and the plug i have in is way too short cheers
dave dix
Go steady putting in the correct long reach plug as a carbon build up may cause the threads to pickup. Screw in and out half turns at a time unless you've got a 14mm plug tap Dave
