ausy300pro
Has anyone had any bother with spltting the case on the 175 engine, I cannot get mine apart, first one in 40 years of doing my own engines that I can't get them to split, they are moving apart ta the main bearing end but wont budge at the back of the engine, I thought there must be a hidden screw somewhere but have got a new set of crankcase allen screws to rebuild with and there are 12 and I have taken out 12 screws, is there something peculiar about splitting this engine ? ausy300pro
I think you could be right with the rear engine mount, it looks like it is round there that it is not moving, I have been using the rubber mallet (well nylon actually cos I find that rubber does not transfer enough of the shock to get it moving) Thanks
ausy300pro
victory is mine, the cases were stuck on the large dowel at the rear of the engine where the rubber mount is, it was corroded together in cases, had to use lots of heat to get it apart but it's done now.
