Has anyone any tips on how to refit the Tiger Cub Gear Selector Quadrant pin that goes through the Quadrant and then into the gear selector shaft, which is then secured with a split pin.

I have tried for ages to alighn the pin but for some reason it wont go back through. :D

thanks to all.

Hi,

Have you got the quadrant the right way round - when correct it the boss on the end should line up with the window in the inner cover. It is then simply a case of inserting the pin through the holes ( a bit of jiggling will be necessary ) making sure that the small hole in the pin is in line with the one in the camplate and then install the split pin.

Good look

As an aside, it is possible to reverse the camplate to give '1 up' gearchanges. Simply unsolder the boss, reverse the plate and resolder. You need to file a touch off the bottom of the plate to clear the engine cases. This is also good when the plate starts to wear and you spend ages trying to engae 1st before you can get into the section. Did mine 15 years ago, and still fine.
