dluck
Hi, I am having problems with my ignition system and was hoping maybe someone could help. I just recently purchased a lightly used 2005 TXT 280 PRO from a friend. I brought the bike home and proceeded to go through the bike make any necessary adjustments and change all fluids. After all the maintenance was completed I washed the bike with the tank off, spraying the bike with a garden sprayer attached to my hose at home. I then reinstalled the tank on the bike after drying it off. Now the bike will no longer start. I checked for spark and there is none. How do I go about checking the ignition system on this bike? I assume it is one of the following components: stator, ignition controller box, pickup coil, or ignition coil. Any advice?
laser1
I would spray all under tank connections and plug hood with WD40 and try again.
dluck
I figured it out last night. It was a loose ground wire. The ground running into the CDI had pulled out of the plug slightly and was no longer making contact. The bike runs great now!
