Can't be too big for trials! As for the bike, decide on your budget, and then go to your nearest dealer and try a few for size. You'll get all sorts of opinions here on reliability etc., but at the end of the day it's what you feel most comfortable on. If you pop along to a local event most riders will be more than happy to chat about their own preferences and their experiences, and might even let you have a go!

Thanks for the reply. I take it that spring settings, fork oil weight etc is the same as a road bike in terms of personal settings? I dont want to get out on my first wobbler and find that my weight leaves the tyres rubbing on the plastics!!

Cheers

To start off, you can probably get away with just increasing the the spring preload - and focusing on the basics like learning to turn, clutch and brake.

Longer term, Setting up the bike with the proper springs and dampening for your weight will make a huge difference when you start doing bigger obstacles. Stiffer springs are available for most bikes and some folks have there own custom springs made up.
