tightwoods
I am looking to buy a new trials helmet. Are there any significant differences between a trials specific helmet and conventional open face helmets from mnufacturers such as Zamp, KBC, Arai, Bell, etc? It seems to me that in general the trials specific helmets have more sharp, angular edges instead of smoother, more rounded profiles. This appears to be a cosmetic/styling issue that could cause more damage in a crash. Trials specific helmets might also have better ventilation. I don't know if they are any lighter or offer better visibility. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks. tightwoods
zippy
With a trials specific helmet the back area at the neck is usually cut up higher, that way the rider can look up easier. Ventilation seems to differ between individual models of helmets.
tony27
In general a trials helmet would probably be lighter as well
