Guest stixnstonesbrokemybones
Just got my new 300 Raga, and found it floods the moment that you stop it, unless you turn off the fuel tap before killing the engine. Tip it over on it's side to let the fuel out of the overflow pipe and she starts again, but not very practical. Is this easy enough to live with stopping and starting between sections? My beta could be leant against a tree for an hour without flooding. Any recomended carb adjustments to improve things?
the addict
The fuel needle is dirty or sticking letting fuel into the carb, could also be a sticky float but more likely needle Edited September 6, 2009 by The Addict
Guest stixnstonesbrokemybones
Is stickiness possibly a result of being brand new?
the addict
more likely to be a bit of dirt in it and not allowing it to shut the fuel off, whip the carby off and clean everything, i always did that with new bikes
peterb
Problem is exremely likely to be dirt in the needle valve. Have a look if there is an in line (fuel line) filter, not usually supplied by the factory but very essential for the Keihin as it does not have an integral filter. Bye, PeterB. Guest stixnstonesbrokemybones
Done that - couldn't see any dirt but now doesn't flood. Thanks for the advice.
