craftypiggy
I am getting some bits on my bike anodized, but its costing alot of money, which I don't really have So I was wondering if anybody could tell me what I need to do it and how hard/ long it takes, I don't mind spending quite a bit of money and time because at least then I can anodize lots of bits... . I have found out that I need a 12 Volt battery charger which I have, so what else do I need?? Could anybody supply me with a method and/or some pics, details. Thanks in adavnce, Lloyd PS. Its for stuff like levers, bash plate, bars, sprockets. Edited December 2, 2004 by craftypiggy
t-shock 250
Forget it, polish 'em instead, looks better, costs next to nothing and doesn't look awful when the anodizing wears off or gets scratched.
titanium
I know you will need some kind of acid, and fabric dye. I saw it on a website recently. I will try to find a link....

charliechitlins
would looooooooooooove to see the results of " piggies home anodizing" I and many of my antique-restoring brethren have been doing several kinds of plating at home (Copper/nickel/chrome electroplate, zinc, electroless nickel), and Parkerizing, with excellent success. I can't see why anodizing should be a problem.
craftypiggy
What equipment have you been using, any pictures?
charliechitlins
I do electroless nickel and Parkerizing...just in a pot on a hot plate. I don't do electroplating myself, but, like you say, it's done with a battery or battery charger. Here's a link:Caswell plating
biffsgasgas
That is an awesome website! I have been thinking about buying an all aluminum Audi A8, taking it down to metal and anodizing it...... *squeek squeek* Now you have me thinking. :santawink:
