metisse
Just back from a trial down in deepest France and was really impressed with an Swm out after having a make over. Was interested to learn that the headstock had been moved... swingarm lenthened and exhaust had been breathed over. Was really impressed with the way that it went I was told it was a 1982 280. Are these really an undervalued .., but overllooked alternative in the competative twinshock trials market. Don t know as in many cases, whether the above mods are really worth the hassle and cost and at the end of the day the bike still has to be ridden but I was very impressed with the way it went , I might even be tempted or are they an aquired taste....... Thanks
pedronicman
If you can get hold of a reasonable one , and with a bit of time, money , effort and patience you can end up with a very competirive twinshock machine, as not loads around would probably need sorting a bit. Most parts are available, you just have to know where to look. Not the lightest , but has plenty of power and grips like nothing else. I wouldn't change my 320 for anything now , not even after changing from a modern bike. my steed-

metisse
Hi Ross, I don't know about acquired the taste, I have as you know bought into SWM ownership. Funny lot these Swm boys, my French chum cum Swn ' know it all ' nut hasn t spoken to me for a week, since I moved the footrests down and back a knats... Dont know how he is going to react when I show him my spare pair of mazocchi yokes bored to take the jumbo forks being secretly flown and parachuted into France next week. I do like it, is it the best bike around that 78/80 era don t know, dont care. It looks good and goes well, just need to get used to riding it, first time out I did find it a little of a handful, its a big section bike and the trend of making everything a little Micky Mouse and tight suits my Fantic better... Time will tell, but I think she's a keeper, certainly now with the shinny new tank.
