stushine
just bought my self a 2007 sherco 290 to replace my 2002 sherco 290.. just wondering a few things.. whats the fuel / 2 stroke mixture? how do i tell that it really is a 290 and not a 250? on the frame i see it has a picture of a fuel tank and says 98 on it, i presume this means 98 ron fuel? (super unleaded?) cheers
copemech
Hi, No different on the mix, many use 80:1 ratio. Look at the motor number, below and aft of the carb, should start awth SH290 -----. Super unleaded, yes at 98 ron

trialsnutterman
They run fine on 95 but sometimes, if going down the road for example they can start to knock using 98 helps. You oil amount is correct, if your using a good quality fully synthectic 2 stroke oil you can run a lower ratio, I run mine at 75:1 I think it helps prevent the exhaust getting bunged up with oil.
