when out riding, the odd time another trials bike passes me, it smells totally different, not like normal petrol/2 stroke

when i 1st bought my sherco it also smelt the same, a weird / different smell to it, but now im using my own petrol/2stroke the smell has gone. so im guessing its something to do with the petrol or oil??

any 1 any ideas? a different 2stroke maybe?

The smell is based upon the brand, and type, of 2-stroke oil you mix into the gas. As stated, IPONE makes a strawberry smelling oil. Maxima makes a semi-synthetic that smell like the old bean oil. All depends on what oil you put in it.

Actually , I switched back to the Maxima 927 Castor/ synth blend about a year ago.

There is nothing that can replace the smell of bean oil! There is just a bit of bliss in it that gets you! Not as offensive as the pure synth stuff anyway

It does seem to run just as clean as the fully synth K2 product, yey seems to go through a bit of a smokey period upon initial warmup.

My friend into the karts and running the same at 12k rpm reports very positive on the stuff, runs clean, maximum power, dyno tested, little carbon build!

The Castrol R could be similar, not sure about that. That smell gets my woody on!
