motomerlin
My transport manager informs me a "vertical" rear plate is now requied for this weekends East Yorks Two Day. Here's the legal version:
rtm
Would it not be better to have it emblazed on the back of your jacket? Is that then legal?
totalshell
quite right number plates have very strict rules regarding size colour position and size and colour of lettering/numerals. each infraction carries fixed penalties (3 points 75 quid fine_) a typicla trials number plate probably breaks enough laws to get you banned if the copper has had a bad day

rtm
A few years ago a mate of mine rode his sports bike around with the bottom half snapped off. So he only had the topline of digets left on display. It actually looked like a private plate so he would get away with it. But if ever pulled then its was mearly broken and he'd just need to get it sorted and no fine.
perce
Wow nice private reg "G" Nah, the G's for where he's going to leave his gonads when he makes an a*** of a section.
the addict
Dont quote me on this but I have a feeling not having a number plate at all is less of an offence than an Illegal one,
the addict
Mike, I'll give that number plate till section 2 mate
wri5hty
I'm observing the last section in ruswarp. should i take a spare or just a s**t load of gaffer tape?
motomerlin
And the winner is The Addict - it lasted 4 sections.... And that was the "illegal" small plate I fitted after all after all. The mudguard would have snapped with a proper plate flapping about. original
mike a few years ago me and martin hawyes got stopped in derby, we had to fit the same thing as you and present it at an M.O.T station. probably wouldn't attempt a section with it on wayne
