Does anyone have the carb settings for a 2009 250 to hand? My mates bike isn't running properly. It starts and runs on the choke but when the choke is off it starts to die and when the throttle is turned to keep the revs up it will be slow to pick up the revs or just bog down and die. The carb has been cleaned and the air filter is clean.

cheers guys!

The stock (26mm PBHL) jetting on the bikes comming into the states is:

Main - 118

Pilot - 38

Needle - D36 - clip on 2nd from bottom

Needle Jet/atomizer - 270

Fuel screw - usually around 3 turns out. (of course this is not a static setting)

We always change this to a leaner main and needle setup, but was told it worked well on UK Gas.

(any chance u have a Air leak somwhere?)

Is the carb the dellorto PHBL? Does it have the easy to miss 2nd pilot jet down the hole that the obvious pilot jet comes out of? That 2nd one was partially blocked on my PHBH the other day giving a poor response off the bottom.

Sounds like a blocked jet or an air leak as Laser1 says.

It's never run well on the road. It seems to hate the road. At a normal club trial at the weekend the engine just stopped and wouldn't start again. He's always had little problems with the carb and has fussed with it a few times to try and cure it, changing some of the insides etc. We are going to try and cure it tonight so your advice might be the cure!! will keep you posted.
