02-apr
After 30-odd years it's nice to know just what Vesty's sponsors actually produced, even if I was never in the market for their stuff, but it raises a point about sponsorship that has often passed through my mind. I see a lot of sponsor names on the bikes "on the telly" but haven't a clue who most, if any, of them are or what they do and no doubt I'm not alone in that. It does rather make you wonder about the point of sponsorship from the publicity angle. Preaching to the converted?

pedronicman
Think its a happytime suit, sunoco was one of his sponsors possibly finnish tv company? It is not the usual Happytime suit of a later period ,this had happytime down each lenghth of the sleeve only. Look closely on the sleeve and it has a "No. 1 Trials Team" badge which was Vestys own trials parts company that he formed round that time and a small Happytime badge below it. The suit is from a different year to the bike possibly '77. Happytime was owned by a friend of Vestys back in Finland but not sure what it actually was. Yes Sunoco is a US oil company.
