malcra
After my acquisition of a Pampera (see website) just wondering what tyres people are using for more general use, like some green laning, long distance trials ? I guess the cheaper (and hard wearing options are Pirelli's, though anyone tried the Bridgestone TW24 ?
motomerlin
Pampera tyres? Anything that's black & round.... IRC trials tyres will wear fast on the tarmac, so try anything else really. It probably depoends on how many trials or LDTs you intend riding. And how much you like changing tyres! Pretty much all the events demand a trials rear, some a trials front too. Oddly enough, the IRC rears sharpen the trailing edge on road work. I seem to remember the Pamps originally came with some michelin all rounder fitted. jeffers
Hi malcra, I have a pamp and i use it for trail riding,LDT, and 3 stage trials , and of course getting a MOT when due, and i run a pirelli MT43 on the rear (4.00 x18 ) and a (MICHELIN ENDURO COMP 3 90/90 X 21 I have tried many others and i find these are very good all round, The reason i use a enduro tyre on the front is because i have many less front end wipe outs, Hope this is of some help jeffers
pete_scorpa3
I only used to ride my Pampera in LDT's or easy club trials as I had a DRZ for trail riding, so I always used soft trials tyres which suit the Pampera very well. But you will need to fit security clamps to the rims. Michelin X11's certainly lasted longer than IRC's and on the Pampera I couldn't tell the difference in grip between the two.
