elctb
I recently noticed that the fan on my 2007 TXTPro 300 is running almost continuously. It shuts off on occasion, but is running more than it used to. The bike doesn't overheat though. What do you guys think the problem might be ? Thermostat or water pump ? cosmickites
i dont have an answer to that, but after a tip over in a puddle yesterday my fan "whistles" when it runs. Any thoughts on this? i was considering just unhooking the fan as i ride the bike in TRAILS, not trials, so it gets a fair bit of air over the rad. elctb
Well, I changed the thermostat and the fan still runs as much as it did before. I would estimate it runs 60-70% of the time. It might be normal for it to run that much. I'll keep riding the bike for now.
lian
Recently have read that cylinder can be warm more cause carb did not regulated right - give richer mix. And from long work on rich mix will generate snuff in engine and muffler. It cause decreasing power, shoots from silencer and overheating cylinder, so cooler will work almost always... Check mix, maybe I need too... Edited December 28, 2009 by Lian

elctb
I've checked the coolant level and it's to the top of the radiator. Is there an easy way to check the impeller ? How can I check the impeller is working properly ?

cosmickites
any reason for the very loud whistling sound from my fan? sounds almost like a loud screech
houseape1000
As for the sceeching, make sure theres nothing catching......sounds silly, but my old bike started screeching and it turned out to be the fan barely catching a cable tie ! cosmickites
thanks its so tight in there (jokes aside) that its hard to get a good idea what the F is going on. i will try again and take a look. it could be something touching it
gasgasmi
The noise could be the bearings going out in the fan motor. If they are going out it could be slowing the fan down therefore causing it to run more. If it isn't rubbing I am guessing you need a new fan motor.
