Wye Valley John Langford Trial

Hi, the wye valley club came around yesterday to our farm and marked out the trial for the 13th dec and i must say it has excellent sections that everyone will enjoy. Lots of natural gulllys, stream beds, climbs e.tc. It is a large lap doen 4 times that must be getting on for 1 1/2 to 2 miles in length per lap so plenty of riding for everyone over some amazing terrain. Anyone who rode the trevor hunt trophy trial that was part of the normandale series will have rode some of the sections on offer earlier this year. But as far as a club trial it is a new venue.

The main reason im writing this though is that my girlfriend is suffering from the condition - pulmonary hypertension - that the wye valley are donating the profits towards, to help research and find a cure, as at present there is no simple cure and the only way it can be cured is with a double lung transplant. So, if your free on the weekend of 13th dec and you want a great venue to trial at with a long lap and do some good for a worthwile charity please get yourselves up to the trial at Rocky Fold farm, Craswall. (Anyone wanting to use a sat nav the post code for the farm is HR2 0PN.)

Hope to see lots of you there

Mal

As Malcolm says, its an excellent spot and though its currently 'quite wet' up in Craswell should be a good trial next weekend. There is a picture of the main streamway in a brief report on the twinshock.org.uk website. The Pampera would be alright on the easier Sportsman route, though maybe not with me riding it, and the Clubman route is on the sensible side given the conditions.

See you all next Sunday !

Report write up is on the twinshock.org.uk website.

Great trial, great location but an entry less than 30. Rather then over-analysing it, Craswall (and Herefordshire) is a bit of a no-mans-land for trials, sitting in one ACU Centre and being closer to the population of 3 others. Its geography thing.

Thanks to Malcolm and his family for the use of the venue (lots of comments on the lap, more enduro than trials, complete with two river crossings) and for the refreshments.

Great write-up Mal...and thanks for putting the time in to do that.

Its that kind of thing which I think will really help people to know that WVAC is putting on some excellent trials at excellent venues.

Completey agree with you about entries too.

There are I would imagine alot of people, and i am definately one of them who often dont have a clue if they will be working or not...(yes, some of us do work on Sundays!! :D ) untill the very last minute. Selfishly, it would suit me much better if every trial was enter on the day, and I've definately missed a few through it being pre-enter.

Pleased the trial made a decent ammount of dosh too.

Well done all at WVAC!!!!!
