bridgwaterjohn
I have a Tarabusi piston No 7-313. That i belive is suitable for the 247 Cota, The piston does not have an arrow to indicate which way round it goes, It has the two piston ring locators at 10.30 and 1.45 aproximatly on the short shirt side. Can any body throw any light on this for me Thanks John H
belldane
Hi John If the short skirt has a port in it then it goes to the the intake side (rear) See ya
bridgwaterjohn
Hi Belldane Unfortunatly the piston does not have any ports in the skirt Regards John H
motovintage
mark the location of the ring locating pins on the top of the piston with a felt tip marker, put the piston in the cylinder, move it through the stroke and see where the locaters line up, when installed correctly the ring end gaps will not be open to a port. belldane
I've had a look at a couple of old motors I have here which don't have any ports on the pistons and in both cases the shorter skirt is to the rear. Hope that helps
