old trials fanatic
With all the rain we have been experiencing of late the expectation of the riders attending round 10 of the Peak Classic Trials Clubs Club Championship on 29th November was for mud, flood and a bit more mud thrown in for good measure . As they drove up the access road this looked to be confirmed by the rivulets running down the road however this was not the precursor for the mudfest they all expected. In fact the trial was, considering the weather of last was no more slippery than usual. In fact most of the riders expressed their surprise and also how much they enjoyed themselves so congratulations must go out to Jed Speed and Derek Carson who between them laid out a very enjoyable trial. The sections were split between the stream sections and the woods consisting of turns around the trees and rocks this popular venue is famous for. Surprisingly nobody stayed clean all day but Mark Hallows on his trusty Majesty came pretty close losing just the one mark to take the win in the Expert Twinshock class. Great ride Mark as the winner of the Air Cooled Monoshock class was won by Chris Slack on his Beta for a loss of three marks coincidentally the same as Pete Carson who took the win in the Expert British Bike category on his tiger cub. Our next event, round 11 of the Club Championship, will be at Cookes Quarry, Youlgrave near Matlock, Derbyshire. The date for your diary is the 20 December 11.00 am start so see you there.
