bengtphorqs
Does anyone have suggestions for reliable supplier(s) for vintage Yamaha parts. Having trouble finding a few items that should be available. I've tried one of the dealers in the upper midwest but their customer services falls between slim and none, and slim just left town. USA dealers preferred, but what about the U.K.? Any suggestions are appreciated.
spinner
Send me a list of what you are looking for, I run the parts department at a Kansas Yamaha dealer. I can check availability of any part#, if Yamaha doesn't have the parts I have a few NOS part sources!! Steve

bengtphorqs
Thanks guys. I've traded with BJ Racing and thumbs up on their shop. They have a lot of really good upgrades but don't carry all of the smaller bits that might go bad over time. I did send a PM to Spinner with a list of parts. badmotofo
For OEM parts, I research on Yamaha's parts catalog web page (http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/myyamaha/prompt/L3Nwb3J0L3BhcnRzL2hvbWUuYXNweA==/Parts%20Catalog/starthere.aspx). Then I search the web with the part number. I've had good experiences with boats.net in Florida and nwvintagecycleparts.com in Oregon. -MB
alan_nc
I guess I'm just cheap: These guys have beat everyones prices by a good 20% http://www.boats.net/ (and they have any Yamaha motorcycle part you need) Alan Edited January 4, 2010 by Alan_nc
bengtphorqs
Nothing wrong with cheap, although I prefer to think of myself as frugal. I have a serious habit here with 6 different bikes to support! But am I missing something here? I went to boats.net and all that I see are marine motor parts. Do they have a different page for motorcycles?
badmotofo
But am I missing something here? I went to boats.net and all that I see are marine motor parts. Do they have a different page for motorcycles? I always search boats.net by part number. -MB
alan_nc
Either enter a Motorcycle Part Number (as mentioned)or try this further link: http://www.boats.net/parts/search/Yamaha/M...ARTS/parts.html They seem to have most parts on hand and I have found their shipping to be very reasonable.
