neilc
What is the difference between a txt and a pro? I am totally new to trials and have recently bought a gasgas 280 which i thought was a txt pro. But reading the posts it looks like these are different bikes. The bike seems spot on but anything would with my standard of riding. Cheers Neil
bikespace
One simple way. Look at the right hand side casing. If it has en eye hole where you can see the oil level, it is a pro, otherwise it's the TXT.
Guest gasgastxtpro
Hmmmm, this is why my bike confuses me. It has an eye hole and it looks like a pro engine, yet the graphics including the tank are just txt. I will post pictures when i get my digital camera at christmas. Wold someone really get a pro and cover it in txt graphics :madsanta: Yamaha Dude :madsanta:
jtt
The 2002 200 Pros used the older style chassis, with a new Pro motor. 2003 and on all used the Pro style chassis, graphics and plastic.
lastplacebrad
txtpro, what year/cc is your bike ? it looks like a pro in the picture and the early ones did say txt up the tank .
ba baraccus
txtpro yours is definately a pro! I thought the full name for the pro was in fact TXT Pro? The older model which used to be just TXT then became Edition 02/03! I might be wrong but that was my understanding?!?! P.S. sorry for all the pro`s in that post I kinda got carried away saying pro didnt I!! PRO PRO PRO PRO PRO PRO heh heh sorry
Guest gasgastxtpro
Yeh thanks, it doesnt say the word pro on my bike anywhere but im sure it is a pro Why cant gasgas just be less complicated what with the txt and the txt pro and the txt edition, Yes BA its kinda hard to talk about gas gas with out over using the pro word It is a 2002 125cc bike, On the tank it is like 20 02 (but the 02 is underneath the 20) Anyway, hope that infor helps in finding out which it is. :madsanta: Yamaha Dude :madsanta: Edited December 22, 2004 by gasgastxtpro

Yet another revelation in the confuzzling 02 gasser case Any ideas? :madsanta: Rich :madsanta: p.s how the hell do you attach two pictures in one post? jtt
Rich, one more time...the pre-2003 model 200s and 125s used the new generation Pro motor, but the older generation chassis, plastic, fuel tank, airbox, air filter, etc. They were still known as "Pros" as they have the new engine. The standard TXT models had the older style motor.

spokes
This is mine. TXT 02 on the tank. Pro engine and frame but Rad plastics differ from others I've seen. Triangle air filter.
