johnh
I have refitted the clutch onto the shaft but it rubs on the gear change mechanism, indicating that there should be 1 or more spacers. I have a parts book but it isn't precise with this matter, I have also spoken to Sandifords but the info they had was not conclusive, they did say it appeared to have a spacer but do not have it and could not give me the dimensions. Can any one shed a little light on this for me? Cheers John
motovintage
are you sure the gear change actuator is installed all the way? there is very little clearance here, make sure it's all the way in and the cirlip is in the groove on the shifter side
vintagecota
There are 2 washers under the clutch pack, 3863.151 and 3863.159 These numbers are from the Cota 200 book but should be the same. The 38 prefix relates to a Cappra 125 motocrosser. Maybe your source can make use of the part numbers.
johnh
Thanks for the replies: Checked the gear chaange actuater it seems to be all the way in. Have tried those part numbers, they are the same on the 123 but they are NLA and Sandifords couldn't give me the dimensions. I did notice that there is a wear mark on the gear starter where it runs with the gear idle starter so have taken the measurement and come up with 17mm ID, 27mm OD and 1mm thick. Will try to find/manufacture a washer/spacer with these dimensions and see how it goes. Cheers John
