gooch842
i bought the bike when the temps were cold out. rode it a lot. no signs of any problem. then kick start idle bearing flew apart. we split the cases, flushed the whole engine and correctly rebuilt the water pump, and put a new top end in the bike. few days later, i attended ttc's training days 09 and the bike ran lean, and horrible the whole time. the pilot jet seemed to keep getting stopped up. the filter was new and oiled with pj1 supertack. the fan always runs. ALWAYS. i use engine ice. 80:1 ,93 octane pump gas mixed with yamalube, the elevation in ky is around 1000 feet. the bike has a dellorto vhst 28 carb. i need to know how to jet this thing. has anyone had any similar problems in this area? my phone # is 8596613123 please call me if you KNOW how to FIX the problem. thanks a bunch. A few questions: what is your current jetting in the VHST? (I'm assuming it's a VHST26BS, not a 28) does the fan run immediately at start-up? Is the pilot jet actually getting clogged or just acting like it does? does the engine lose coolant at any time? other than the fan running, what other symptoms does the engine exhibit of running hot?
