Beta Minitrial Wont Idle

Hi guys im having trouble getting my sons minitrial 50 to idle

it has a size 60 jet

it runs well

the spark plug is new

the spark looks good

it starts fairly easy (dosnt need choke though)

has anyone any idea cos its driving me insane

It's pointless telling you to turn the idle screw up, as it will want to set off on it's own. My daughters bike did the same so I took it back to the shop, not sure what they did to it but it's been right ever since :wacko:

In fact, I think they put a new carb on it if I remember correctly...

yeah ive turned the idle screw up in fact its fully in. i took the carb apart to make sure there was no dirt inside. i took the reed valves out to make sure there was no dirt in them i did notice that one reed was not tight shut would this have any effect ?

Hi, not much help im affraid, just like to say i bought one new for my son and all the year we had it it never ran right. Depending on how hot the engine was it

would either not idle or rev&go. :wacko:

With frequent trips to my dealer we decided the carb was pants with only the main air screw and no fuel mixture at all. He said it might be possible to fit a yamaha carb with a slight mod, we opted for the sell. Rev 50 is a different beast.

just to let you know ive now got the bike running great with a new set of reeds and a new clutch the clutch springs were weak and dragging all the time it now ticks over sweet

took lad out on it today its like a different bike the acceleration and top speed are way better :)
